Overview
The Apollo’s 2021 WOW (Women of the World) Festival features a phenomenal lineup of more than 80 artists, thought leaders, authors, and activists including Adeline, Aunjanue Ellis; Elaine Welteroth, Harriette Cole, Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, Reneé Watson, Jessamyn Stanley, and Nikki Giovanni.
This year’s theme, Black Women Transcending marked this particular moment in time as we continue to endure a global pandemic and navigate the current political climate in the U.S., while simultaneously balancing self-care, family, community and work.
On demand tickets will be available for purchase on Tuesday, March 23.
WOW Apollo will be streaming on demand from Tuesday, March 23 until Tuesday, April 20, 2021. An on-demand ticket includes access to all conversations, performances, panels and workshops.
WOW Apollo highlights include:
- More Than Enough, a conversation with Elaine Welteroth and Harriette Cole
- A special Teen Summit addressing the role of young women and girls in policy making
- Healing and Reflection with Toni Jones featuring Affirmations For the Grown Ass Woman
- Black Love and Joy in a Time of Turmoil with Nikki Giovanni, Reneé Watson and Jason Reynolds
- Adorn Your Crown: Headwrapping 101, a workshop with Chioma Ngwudo, co-founder of Cee Cee’s Closet NYC
- Apollo Live Wire Hazel Scott: The Darling of Café Society curated and directed by Karen Chilton and musical direction by Damien Sneed
- Short films by women in speculative fiction, sci-fi, fantasy and folklore, curated by Apollo Film’s ImageNation’s Cocktails & Sōl Cinema.

- After purchasing your ticket, you will receive an email confirmation containing a link to access the stream.
- Click the link. When prompted, enter the email address that you used to purchase your ticket.
- After you register with your email, you may come in and out of the festival on the same web browser and device as many times as you would like until April 20, 2021.

Four wheelchair seating locations will be reserved until the day of each performance.Each seating level is accessible via the elevator inside The Apollo’s Historic Theater. Guests should be aware of the small steps leading toward the Mezzanine and Balcony seating levels. Depending on the guest’s ticket location for these two levels, additional walking may be required. If guests are not able to travel up and down steps, tickets for events should be purchased for the Orchestra level.
