Join us for a toy and donation drive on Thanksgiving Day to ensure the spirit and tradition of the holiday are shared with the less fortunate. Gobble Gobble Give NYC is the NYC chapter of the national organization, Gobble Gobble Give, which started in 1998 and has Thanksgiving events all over the country, feeding and clothing thousands of people every year. The NYC chapter started with a few people handing out meals in 2009 and has grown to 850 volunteers, 3600 meals, and thousands of care packages delivered in 2019. Post-pandemic, we’ve transitioned to a Toy and Donation Drive. The donations are given to New Yorkers in need, with a focus on the homeless and families living in shelters and group homes. This year we will have a craft station set up where kids (and adults!) can decorate holiday cards and make ornaments and charm bracelets for the children who receive the donations. We will also have a professional photographer taking free portraits in front of the famous Apollo Marquee so families can document the day.
Donations we can accept:
New & Gently Used Children’s Toys & Books
Canned/Packaged Food<
Toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, shave cream, feminine products, etc)
Baby Items (diapers, formula, baby wipes, baby wash, car seats, bibs, clothing, etc)
New & Gently Used Clothing & Blankets (coats, socks, warm hats, scarfs, warm blankets)
