Develop a Live Production, From Concept to Execution, In Just 6 Weeks
Learn how to apply technical elements of theater such as lighting design, audio engineering, videography, carpentry, and production design, to live and recorded stage productions from the pros at The Apollo.
Selected PAID Interns will be assigned to work with members of The Apollo’s production crew to learn what goes into creating events at the legendary Apollo Theater. Rising seniors entering the 12th grade in September 2023 are encouraged to apply.
The Internship runs for six (6) weeks. Interns work Monday – Thursday onsite at the theater and then on Fridays virtually each week. Additionally, interns may be assigned to Apollo special events. Only applicants who can commit to attending the entire program will be considered.
VACCINATION REQUIRED
COVID vaccination is required; however, the organization will consider accommodations for disability- and religious-based reasons.

MONDAY, MAY 29: Application Deadline Your completed application must be received by the Apollo by no later than 10:00 PM EST. Late applications will not be accepted.
TUESDAY, JUNE 20: Mandatory Parent/Guardian Orientation There will be a mandatory Parent/Guardian Orientation for accepted applicants. If accepted, you will be required to attend the orientation with a parent or legal guardian.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 5: Internship Begins The 2023 Summer Internship Program begins on Wednesday, July 5 and continues through Friday, August 11. Only applicants who can commit to attending the entire program will be considered.

Four wheelchair seating locations will be reserved until the day of each performance.Each seating level is accessible via the elevator inside The Apollo’s Historic Theater. Guests should be aware of the small steps leading toward the Mezzanine and Balcony seating levels. Depending on the guest’s ticket location for these two levels, additional walking may be required. If guests are not able to travel up and down steps, tickets for events should be purchased for the Orchestra level.
