Amateur Night at the Apollo is looking for the best singers, dancers, comedians, rappers, spoken word artists, variety acts, and musicians for 2023.
Adults aged 18+ who are chosen from the audition will have the chance to perform and compete for the grand prize of up to $20,000. Performers ages 5-17 can compete to be recognized as a “Child Star of Tomorrow” for an opportunity to win a prize of $5,000.
Live auditions will be held at the Apollo Theater located at 253 West 125th Street, New York, NY 10027. Please arrive early. Only the first 200 acts will be seen.

Covid-19 Guidelines
SAFETY PROTOCOLS: All contestants–including parents and chaperones– must be fully vaccinated and able to show proof of vaccination and photo ID. Non-vaccinated individuals are required to provide a negative COVID (rapid test administered in front of an Apollo employee or PCR with supporting medical facility document) test result taken no more than 48 hours in advance of the audition. Face masks are not mandatory, but strongly recommended for participation.

Four wheelchair seating locations will be reserved until the day of each performance.Each seating level is accessible via the elevator inside The Apollo’s Historic Theater. Guests should be aware of the small steps leading toward the Mezzanine and Balcony seating levels. Depending on the guest’s ticket location for these two levels, additional walking may be required. If guests are not able to travel up and down steps, tickets for events should be purchased for the Orchestra level.
