Over 70 years after the first Amateur Night, the Apollo Theater is introducing yet another way for YOU, the audience, to vote for your favorite contestants!

Beginning September 5, 2007, text your vote after the show to name the next Apollo Legend from the remaining 3 contestants at the end of each Amateur Night live onstage every Wednesday at 7:30 PM!

Video clips are posted here weekly of the most recent competition, in case you missed the live show or want to share your enthusiasm for a particular contestant with your network of text-voting friends...so take a look, review the instructions below, and vote for your favorite this week and every week!

After Amateur Night has ended, voting will open at 11:00pm EST.

Text “STAR#2”, “STAR#3”, “STAR#4” to 276556

Go to Messaging on your wireless device, select “new message”, select “TXT” as message type.

Type 276556 in the to field. Select OK

In the body of the message, type your selection STAR2, STAR3, OR STAR4.

Press Send.

You will receive a free bounceback message confirming your charge.

You will receive a final free bounceback message confirming that your vote has counted & have the option to subscribe to the Apollo VIP Alerts program.

You can then check back the following Wednesday by attending the next AMATEUR NIGHT or log onto www.apollotheater.org on the following Thursday for the final voting results.

VOTE/POLL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Voting Availability: Voting is open to all persons located in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia. Text message voting will be open from 10pm Eastern time on each Wednesday on which there is an Amateur Night and 12 noon Eastern time the next Wednesday (“weekly voting period”).

 

  1. How to Vote/Voting Limits:
    1. In order to text vote, you must: * Provide your own cell phone capable of 2-way SMS messaging * Be a cell phone service subscriber with text messaging service * Use a participating cell phone service provider, which are: Verizon Wireless, ATT, Sprint, Tmobile. To vote via text message, send the number associated with the contestant you wish to vote for to 276556. Votes will be tallied and the outcome will be announced at the beginning of the next amateur night show on the following Wednesday.  Winners will also be posted on the Apollo website. To opt-out of the promotion at any time send STOP, QUIT, CANCEL, END or UNSUBSCRIBE to 276556.
    2. To get help on text message voting at any time send HELP to the 276556. You will not be able cast your votes via these help routes. We will endeavor to respond to all queries but cannot guarantee to do so.
    3. You may not vote more than ten (10) times within any single weekly voting period
  1. Cost of Voting: Text voting. In addition to Premium charge of $0.99 for each vote, your cell phone service provider may charge you for each text message you send and receive. Please consult your cell phone service provider regarding their pricing plans. Standard text message rates apply; other charges may also apply.

If for any reason the voting is not capable of being executed as planned, or infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsors, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, the Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to withdraw the transmission of any vote or permanently disqualify from any promotion any person it believes has intentionally violated these rules, and to terminate or suspend voting at any point and declare the First Choice based on the votes up to that point, if it appears that the voting process has been so distorted by hacking or other interference that the results would not reflect actual valid votes should the polling continue. In the event of technical difficulties with text message voting, Sponsors reserves the right to review the votes for accuracy and to take any appropriate action, including, without limitation, voiding the votes cast during the time period in which such technical difficulties occurred. Sponsors and its respective agents, officers, directors, employees, subsidiaries and affiliates assume no responsibility for any injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials or software in connection with this vote. Sponsors are not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind, for inaccurate transcription of voting information, errors in any promotional or marketing materials, for any human or electronic error, or for votes that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed by computer transmissions, lost, or late.
    3. These rules are subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of the Sponsors. Without in any way limiting the foregoing, the Sponsors reserve the right to change the limit on the number of votes, in the Sponsors' sole discretion.

CAUTION: Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any online service or website, tamper with the voting process, or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the voting is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Administrator reserves the right to seek damages and/or other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

    3. Sponsors reserve the right to modify the show's contest rules, and the terms and conditions of this voting process at any time their sole discretion.
